Maserati GranTurismo Sport: The New Frontier in GT Car Design
The Maserati 460 HP engine adapts itself to the road conditions and now the majority of 520 Nm of torque is accessible over an exceptional range of engine speeds for an incredible smooth ride: from the delicate roar of street driving in the city to the aggressive and sporty performance provided in open roads conditions. The driver can decide to increase the intensity of the driving by simply pushing the Sport button. The Maserati GranTurismo is equipped with the German ZF 6-speed automatic transmission, which hydraulic torque converter assures an even more calming ride without scarifying performance levels. The gearbox is controlled by the MC Auto Shift software featuring a double de-clutches, rev limiter override and high performance starting abilities.
On the GranTurismo Sport, the MC Auto Shift automatic transmission is mounted exactly on the engine: this design, and the fact that the engine is moved back at the back of the front axle, provides tremendously well neutral weight distribution with 49% at the front and 51% at the rear. This generates expected handling, making the car more relaxing to drive, and maximizes traction during acceleration. The GranTurismo Sport’s double wishbone suspension features a new setup and is controlled by the Sport Skyhook System, which has been especially developed for this version. Pressing the dashboard Sport button makes the car even more defined and responsive without affecting its ability to deal with rough road surfaces, since it continuously adapts to ground conditions. The design, movement and force of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport are enhanced by the pioneeringmetallescentBluSofisticato finish, a color which makes the lines of the car look even more fascinating. Finally, the large 20-inch Astro Design rims provide a great view of the brembo brakes, which are also available in the completely original BluOpacoAnodizzato.

Consequently, the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is a vehicle that uses every modern safety technology offered nowadays.It employs, for example, a system that works in synchronization with traction control and anti-lock brakes to stop the wheels from locking under hard braking. The front head lights are incorporated with washers, and use xenon technology that provides amazing visibility at night. The Day Time Running Light system uses a set of LEDs during the day to make the car easy to spot. A sensor is used to tell the GranTurismo Sport’s when to use its headlights, all part of the innovative lighting package.
