The New Panamera Gran Turismo Sport With Porsche Rims

At the Paris Motor Show one German automaker introduced a concept that showcased a great deal of new technology that will be utilized and spread into most of its lineup in the future. The car was the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept and it sported a new hybrid drivetrain, visual design, Porsche rims, interior layout, and special technology gadgets to make the driving experience more enjoyable and efficient.

The new Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept features the next-generation of hybrid drivetrain that the German automaker will be using in their future models. There are multiple electric motors on the front and rear axles that are powered by a new lithium-ion battery located under see-through glass in the trunk. The new battery system holds more power than the traditional units that are widely used today, leading to greater efficiency. The main powerplant for the hybrid drivetrain is a 333 horsepower 3.0-liter, supercharged V-6 sourced from Audi. The peak power with both the V-6 and electric motors driving the Porsche rims is set at 416 horsepower, and it is expected to get above 60 mpg.

The new Panamera Sport Turismo concept also wears new design language and aspects that will be used in future models from the German automaker. The entire Concept car is covered in a liquid blue paint that mimics the finish of a liquid metal. Both of the side mirrors have been removed and a new camera system displays real-time information to the driver. The front features a four-pack of LED headlights and integrated LED daytime running lights in the vents. All of the badges are covered in acid green, the official hybrid color for Porsche. New Porsche rims with a double-spoke design are also featured and hide acid green brake calipers.

The new Panamera Sport Turismo Concept car also features a new interior design that is inspired by the idea of simplicity. A large center console lowers down from the dashboard towards the rear seats and houses a new touch-screen system with clickable buttons for the driving systems. Facing the driver are new digital gauges that display relevant information along with the hybrid system and side-view camera video.

A new app will also allow drivers to set custom options such as air, seating position, music and more in their smart phone. Upon entering, the car will automatically alter its settings to suit the driver. The app will also display how much charging time is left and the battery life.

The new Panamera Sport Turismo Concept features all sorts of new technology ranging from hybrid drivetrains, phone apps, interior design, and even new Porsche rims.
