Unique Styling Tips

What if you were to hang up an outfit and your friends and family were able to look at it without you being anywhere nearby. Would they be able to pick out that outfit and instantly say it was yours? Would they think that they outfit had your name all over it, or would they think that it was something that anyone could wear?

If you want to create a style that is people automatically associate with you, then try some of these pointers on for size.

What’s Your Personality? The first thing you need to do when you are trying to create your own style is think about your personality. What are you like? This can be difficult to do, especially if you feel strange describing yourself. Try using some simple adjectives to describe your personality. Are you fun, energetic, different, exciting, an extrovert, elegant, edgy? Once you figure out what words best describe you, try matching up clothes to those words. For example, if you used the word €edgy€ to describe your personality, then try finding clothes that you would describe as edgy.

Find Your Color. It may sound strange, but color is very descriptive, and it can describe your personality well. For example, if you are cool and calm, then blue or purple would be a color that would describe you well. If you are lively and outgoing, then your color might be red or bright orange. Once you figure out what color or colors are best associated with your personality, you should try adding that color to your wardrobe. You don’t have to wear blue from head to toe (unless you want to), but you can wear that color somewhere in your outfit; a blue shirt, blue pants, a blue belt or a pair of blue shoes, for example.

Mix and Match. Don’t be afraid to combine different styles together to create your own, one-of-a-kind look. For example, many people wouldn’t normally pair leather and lace together, but if you like both, then go ahead and wear them together; a lace shirt with a leather jacket, perhaps. Another combination you might try is satin and denim, or a retro skirt with a modern top.

Once you create your own style, people will immediately associate your wardrobe with you, and you’ll stand apart from the rest of the crowd.
